Smash Yard Pickleball Park – Member Policies

Welcome to Smash Yard — Jamaica’s home for fun, fitness, and community through Pickleball.

To ensure a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive environment for everyone, we kindly ask all members and guests to follow the policies below.

1. Court Usage & Safety

• Courts must be booked in advance, either online or through our front desk.
• Please follow all posted rules and instructions provided by Smash Yard staff.
• Only members or guests with an active pass may use the courts.
• Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times.

2. Proper Attire

• Athletic tops, bottoms, and non-marking court shoes are required.
• Clothing should allow freedom of movement but should not be overly revealing.
• Please avoid playing shirtless or in swimwear.
• Smash Yard-branded attire is welcomed and encouraged.

3. Equipment Guidelines

• Members may bring personal paddles and balls or rent equipment at the front desk.
• All Smash Yard equipment must be returned in good condition after use.
• Broken or damaged equipment should be reported immediately to staff.

4. Photography & Videography

Photography & Videography:
Photography and videography are not permitted in the changing rooms. If you are using a personal device, please ensure it is always kept secure. We encourage members to keep devices with them rather than leave them unattended on equipment.

Respect for Privacy:
When using personal technology in the club, please obtain prior consent from anyone who may appear in photographs or videos. If you inadvertently capture someone without consent, please delete the image or footage upon their request.

5. Court Etiquette

• Be courteous and respectful to all players and staff.
• Rotate fairly if courts are busy and respect booking times.
• Practice good sportsmanship and use respectful language.
• Avoid disruptive cheering, shouting, or loud music during others’ games.

6. Food, Drinks & Hydration

• Water and sports drinks are allowed on the courts in sealed containers only.
• Food should be enjoyed in designated seating areas, not on the courts.
• Please dispose of trash properly to help keep the facility clean.

7. Health & Wellness

• If you feel unwell, please refrain from participating until you are fully recovered.
• Warm up properly before playing to help prevent injuries.
• Report any accidents, spills, or hazards to staff immediately.

8. Membership & Guest Access

• All guests must check in at the front desk before entering the court area.
• Members are responsible for ensuring their guests follow all Smash Yard rules.
• Access may be restricted during events, classes, or maintenance periods.

9. Respectful Conduct

• Harassment, discrimination, or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated.
• Please treat staff and fellow members with kindness and respect.
• Any behaviour that compromises safety or comfort may result in removal from the park.

10. Facility Care

• Use only non-marking athletic footwear on the courts.
• Do not drag heavy items, chairs, or bags across the court surface.
• Report any maintenance issues or damage so they can be addressed promptly.
